2011 Saint Jacques de Siran, Bordeaux Superieur 13.5%
Ref: BO027
2011 Saint Jacques de Siran, Bordeaux Superieur 13.5%
We regard this as a "baby Margaux" for it is made at the greatly improved Ch.Siran from vines growing in the Margaux villages of Labarde and Cantenac which average 25 years of age. The wine spends a year in second fill oak and is wonderfully approachable now though will keep for a few years more.  More...

Unusually a little more Merlot here (55%) than elsewhere in the Medoc. The balance is 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. This is now mature though may be kept if required.

2009 Chateau L'Argilus du Roi, St.Estephe 13.0%
Ref: BO081
2009 Chateau L'Argilus du Roi, St.Estephe 13.0%
José Bueno, one time cellarmaster at Mouton and winemaker at other Rothschild properties, created this vineyard by stitching together little parcels of mature, prime St. Estèphe real estate into a single vineyard. It has a little less of the St. Estèphe iron and rather more ripe black fruit and does it in beautifully balanced, full-bodied style. This property is destined for fame - buy now before it gets out of reach. Packed in wooden cases of 12 bottles. Drink 2015-2025

2009 Chateau Le Coteau, Margaux 13.5%
Ref: BO099
2009 Chateau Le Coteau, Margaux 13.5%
One of the smallest estates in the commune at just 11 hectares, but compared to the great names, this is tremendous value. Tucked away in Arsac, the vineyards are flanked by some of the most illustrious names in Margaux. Ripe, though elegant with true Margaux fragrance and finesse. Eric Léglise makes fragrant wine with celebrated femininity, expressing its fruit in prettier, silkier style than the firmer Pauillacs or grippy St. Estèphe. Drink 2015-2025

2011 Domaine de Lacombe, Pomerol 13.0%
This domaine (part of Chateau Le Caillou) is planted 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc on a sandy soil with ferrous clay subsoil. This is classic Pomerol. It has a super nose of dark plums and black cherry with a gentle nudge of oak. In the mouth it is round and rich with ripe tannins and a long finish. It can happily be enjoyed now, or tucked away for a few years.
